Its main mission is to bring people together and spread awareness of the need of saving the environment. The purpose of this group is to find out different ways and solutions to make the Earth greener and more peaceful in the coming time. This group not only works for the environment but also works for the animals. They focus on the animals having rare species and work to preserve them.

Greenpeace organization worked on the following important points: (Source: Greenpeace website)

  • A ban on toxic waste exports to less developed countries.
  • A moratorium on commercial whaling.
  • A United Nations convention providing for better management of world fisheries.
  • A Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary;
  • A 50-year moratorium on mineral exploitation in Antarctica.
  • Bans on the dumping at sea of radioactive and industrial waste and disused oil installations.
  • An end to high-sea, large-scale driftnet fishing.

They launched various campaigns for the protection of rivers and oceans, creating awareness about renewable sources of energy, preserving rare species of animals, and steps to prevent nuclear contamination. Earth also wants to work like Traffic lights. Let us learn something from Traffic lights to save our mother earth.
