In the year 2022, the festivity of Shardiya Navratri, which commenced in the month of Ashwin during the Shukla Paksha (Waxing phase of the moon), started on Monday 26th September. The nine incarnations of the Goddess Durga realized as Navdurga, are worshiped by people on each day of the festival.

The second day of Navratri will be celebrated on 27th September 2022. From 3:08 a.m on September 27 to 2:28 a.m on September 28, the Dwitiya Tithi will come into effect.

The disciples worship Goddess Brahmacharini, the goddess of dedication and resolution, on the second day. She dons a white saree, carrying a Japa Mala (String of Beads) in her right hand and a Kamandala (a water pot) in her left hand. Goddess Brahmacharini is the second virtue of the Navadurga features of Mahadevi and is therefore honored on the second day of Navratri.

It is signified that Goddess Parvati did severe penance or Tapasya, for about 5000 years, to convince Lord Shiva to marry her. For the whole penance, she fed herself belpatra and river water. After some time she even stopped eating bilva leaves and started penance without water and food for thousands of years.

Due to her rigorous penance, she became extremely weak. Saptrishi, all Gods and divinities got upset by seeing her condition and granted the Goddess by telling her that all her hopes will be satisfied and she will surely get Lord Chandramouli Shiva as her groom.

This endurance gave her the name Brahmacharini – a woman who secures holy spiritual knowledge, according to Vedic texts. Goddess Brahmcharini is also identified as Devi Tapasvini and Devi Yogini.

She is the most gentle, quiet, and beautiful form of the Goddess. Those who wish to get courage, vitality, and joy must worship Goddess Brahmcharini. She’s full of insight, awareness, stability, devotion, and affection. Maa Brahmcharini is the ruler of Mars (Mangal) and the Goddess of Sacral Chakra (Swadhishthana Chakra).

People who have mangal dosha in their kundli, according to the astrological basis, must follow fast on this day and worship Maa Brahmcharini with full dedication. It is considered that Maa Brahmcharini generously blesses her devotees to achieve all their wishes.

Maa Brahmacharini Puja Vidhi: Navratri 2022 Day-2

1). To wake up early in the morning, take a bath and wear red clothes.

2). To lit a diya, and drench the figure of the Goddess in honey and milk. Then vermillion is put on the idol’s forehead.

3). To offer white lotus and hibiscus flowers, and sandalwood to the Goddess. 4). White sweets like barfi and kheer must be offered, and also shringaar items to Goddess Durga.

5). Finally, chant Goddess Brahmacharini Mantra and recite Durga Saptashati Paath.
